How to Use Discovery Analytics
This guide helps you track how learners discover and access Skill Studio AI courses through referral sources, search terms, share links, and geographic data. Use it to optimize content distribution and marketing strategies when analyzing engagement trends.
Before You Start
A Skill Studio AI account with at least one published course.
Admin or analytics access to the platform dashboard.
Familiarity with basic filters like date ranges and course selection.
Access to share links or campaigns with UTM parameters for tracking.
A modern web browser for interactive map viewing.
Steps
Navigate to Analytics Dashboard — Log into Skill Studio AI, select your workspace, and click the Analytics tab in the main navigation menu to access all reporting features including Discovery Analytics.
Select Discovery Analytics View — In the Analytics section, choose "Discovery Analytics" from the feature menu to load metrics on learner access paths and content discovery.
Filter by Specific Courses — Narrow results by selecting one or more courses from the dropdown to analyze discovery patterns for high-priority training content.
Review Key Metrics Overview — Examine total course views, unique learners, and top referral sources breakdown to identify overall traffic drivers like direct links or email campaigns.
Analyze Source Attribution — Drill into the referral sources chart to see channel performance, such as social media vs. external websites, and pinpoint the most effective distribution methods.
Track Share Link Performance — Click the share links tab to view clicks, enrollment conversions, and UTM parameter comparisons for individual campaigns and their geographic reach.
Explore Geographic Insights — Open the interactive map to visualize learner locations, spot regional engagement hotspots, and inform localization or targeted marketing decisions.
Export or Share Report — Generate a PDF summary or share the dashboard link with stakeholders to document findings and support data-driven optimizations.
Tips & Best Practices
Combine date filters with course-specific views to spot seasonal trends in learner discovery.
Tag share links with consistent UTM parameters for accurate multi-campaign comparisons.
Cross-reference geographic data with multi-language course performance to prioritize translations.
Monitor unique learners vs. total views to detect repeat access patterns from effective sources.
Set up weekly reviews to track improvements after adjusting distribution channels.
Troubleshooting
No data appears in Discovery Analytics
Ensure courses are published and have views; check date range covers activity period and verify analytics permissions.
Share link metrics show zero conversions
Confirm links direct to enrollment pages; test UTM tags and ensure tracking is enabled in link creation.
Geographic map fails to load
Refresh browser, disable ad blockers, or switch to a supported browser like Chrome for interactive features.
Referral sources look inaccurate
Review external link setups for proper tracking parameters and allow 24-48 hours for data propagation.
