How to Set Course Visibility

This guide helps you control access to your Skill Studio AI training courses by setting visibility to Private, Shared, or Public. Use it when you need to restrict content to enrolled users, share via link, or make courses discoverable to all.

Before You Start

• A Skill Studio AI account with admin or course creator permissions.

• An existing course created from PDFs, PowerPoints, SOPs, or policies.

• Decide your access needs: enrolled only (Private), link-based (Shared), or open (Public).

• Optional: List of users or teams for enrollment in Private courses.

• Browser access to the Skill Studio AI dashboard.

Steps

1. Navigate to your course — Log into Skill Studio AI, go to the Courses dashboard, and select the course you want to configure.

2. Open course settings — Click the settings icon or "Edit Course" button for your selected course to access the full configuration panel.

3. Locate Visibility tab — In the course settings menu, find and click the Visibility tab to view access options.

4. Select visibility level — Choose Private (enrolled users only), Shared (anyone with link), or Public (discoverable by all via search).

5. Configure Private enrollment — For Private, add explicit enrollments via user emails, teams, or integrations; save to restrict access.

6. Handle Shared link — For Shared, generate and copy the course link; enable optional email capture for anonymous viewers.

7. Optimize Public SEO — For Public, add meta descriptions and keywords in the SEO section of settings for better discoverability.

8. Save and verify changes — Click Save; test access in an incognito window or share link to confirm visibility takes effect immediately.

Troubleshooting

Visibility option grayed out or unchangeable

Check your account permissions; contact Skill Studio AI support if you lack course admin rights.

Shared link users can't access content

Verify the link is copied correctly and email capture isn't blocking unauthenticated views; regenerate if needed.

Public course not appearing in search

Ensure SEO meta fields are filled and allow 24 hours for indexing; check platform search filters.

Changes not taking effect immediately

Clear browser cache, refresh the page, or test in incognito mode; re-save settings if sync issue persists.
