How to Track Referrals in Skill Studio AI

This guide helps you monitor how learners share Skill Studio AI courses and track resulting enrollments to measure viral growth. Use it when analyzing content spread across email, social media, and links for compliance training optimization.

Before You Start

  • A Skill Studio AI account with at least one published course.

  • Admin or analytics access to the platform dashboard.

  • Existing learners enrolled in courses to generate shareable links.

  • Basic familiarity with the Analytics section.

  • Optional: Incentive program details for top referrers.

Steps

  1. Enable referral tracking — Navigate to course settings or platform-wide analytics setup, then toggle on automatic referral tracking for share links to ensure unique attribution codes are generated.

  2. Generate share links for learners — Instruct learners to access their unique course share links via the Share2 feature, which automatically embeds referral parameters for tracking.

  3. Access the Referral Tracking dashboard — Go to Analytics > Referral Tracking to view real-time data on shares, including referrer attribution and enrollment results from shares.

  4. Analyze share methods and conversions — Filter reports by email, social media, or direct links to identify which methods drive the most enrollments and viral chains.

  5. Review top referrers — Check the Referrer Attribution view to see which learners drove new enrollments, including referral chains showing network spread.

  6. Export data for incentives — Select top referrers from the dashboard and export lists to recognize or reward high performers in your program.

  7. Monitor viral growth metrics — Track overall enrollment growth from referrals, comparing share-to-enrollment ratios over time for content performance insights.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Encourage sharing by adding branded calls-to-action in courses, like "Share this compliance module with your team."

  • Combine with multi-language support to track referrals across global teams for broader reach.

  • Segment analytics by course type (e.g., onboarding vs. upskilling) to pinpoint high-virality content.

Troubleshooting

No referral data appearing after shares

Verify referral tracking is enabled in settings and learners are using unique links; regenerate codes if needed for existing users.

Low enrollment attribution accuracy

Ensure share links include auto-generated parameters; test a share yourself to confirm tracking in analytics.

Spam or unwanted referrals in reports

Filter out suspicious sources in analytics filters and focus on verified learner-driven traffic.
