Create e‑Learning Courses from Documents with Skill Studio AI

Skill Studio AI lets you turn your existing training documents into complete, interactive e‑learning courses in minutes. Upload PDFs, Word files, PowerPoints, or other training materials, and let the AI generate modules, lessons, quizzes, and action plans for you.

What Skill Studio AI Can Do

  • Transform documents (PDF, PowerPoint, Word) into structured online training.

  • Auto‑generate lessons, learning objectives, and course outlines from your content.

  • Create quizzes, knowledge checks, and action plans based on your material.

  • Adapt course complexity for different audience levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

  • Produce ready‑to‑use courses you can publish, share, or plug into your existing LMS.

How It Works in Practice

Most AI‑powered course creators follow a similar workflow. Skill Studio AI is designed to make each step simple and guided.

Step 1: Start a New Training

Begin by creating a new training project in Skill Studio AI.

  1. Click Create Training on your Skill Studio AI dashboard.

  2. Choose Create from any 3 files if you want to build a course from documents such as PowerPoint, PDF, or Word.

  3. If you prefer not to use a previous draft, select Start Fresh to build the course from scratch using only the uploaded files and your prompts.

Step 2: Upload Your Source Documents

Next, upload the training materials you already have.

  • Click the upload area and select your files from your computer.

  • Supported formats typically include .pdf, .pptx, .ppt, .docx, .doc.

  • You can upload more than one document if your course draws on multiple sources (e.g., a policy PDF plus a slide deck).

Skill Studio AI analyzes the text and structure of your documents and prepares a draft course framework based on them.

Step 3: Set Your Course Basics

To generate the most relevant content, give the AI clarity about your course and your learners.

  • Course topic and goals: In the description field, briefly explain:

    • What your course is about.

    • The main skills or knowledge learners should gain.

    • Any important policies, procedures, or frameworks to emphasize.

  • Audience level: Choose the level (e.g., Intermediate) that best reflects your learners’ current knowledge. This helps the AI adjust complexity and tone.

  • Course type: Select a type such as Regular Course for a standard multi‑module training experience.

When you’re done, click Continue to move forward with these settings.

Step 4: Define Outcomes and Prerequisites

Skill Studio AI suggests learning outcomes and prerequisites based on your document content. You can accept, refine, or add your own.

  • Select learning outcomes:

    • Pick the outcomes that best describe what learners should understand or be able to do by the end of the course.

    • You can select multiple outcomes (e.g., understanding core principles plus best practices for application).

  • Set prerequisites:

    • Choose any suggested prerequisite knowledge (for example, basic customer service skills) so the course is targeted at the right level.

Click Continue to confirm these outcomes and move on to content generation.

Step 5: Let the AI Generate Your Course

After you confirm your settings, you’re ready to create a full training program from your documents.

  1. Click Generate Course.

  2. The AI will:

    • Extract key information from your uploaded files.

    • Suggest a structured course outline (modules, sections, and lessons).

    • Write draft titles, descriptions, and learning objectives.

    • Create quizzes, questions, and other checks for understanding.

    • Generate action plans or activities where appropriate.

  3. This typically takes just a minute or two, depending on document length.

Step 6: Review and Edit Your AI‑Generated Course

Once your draft course is generated, you can fine‑tune everything so it matches your style, brand, and learning goals.

  • Preview the structure: Review modules, lessons, and the learning path the AI created.

  • Edit content: Adjust titles, rewrite explanations, or add clarifications where needed.

  • Customize quizzes and activities:

    • Modify questions and answer options.

    • Add new quizzes or assignments.

    • Adjust difficulty to match your audience level.

  • Enhance engagement: Insert examples, scenarios, or additional resources to make the content more practical and interactive.

You stay in control: the AI builds the first draft; you refine it so it fits your learners and your organization’s standards.

Step 7: Publish, Share, or Export

When you’re satisfied with your course, you can roll it out to learners.

  • Publish inside Skill Studio AI: Make the course available directly to your learners from within the platform.

  • Share via link: Provide learners with a direct link to access the course online.

  • Export to your LMS or platform: Depending on your setup, export in a format your LMS accepts (for example, SCORM) and upload it to your existing training environment.

After publishing, you can always return to the course to update content, refresh quizzes, or add new materials as your policies and processes evolve.

A Minimal‑Effort Workflow You Can Follow

If you want a simple, repeatable pattern for turning documents into training with Skill Studio AI, use this workflow:

  1. Pick Skill Studio AI as your course‑creation platform.

  2. Upload your main training document (for example, a manual, policy, slide deck, or chapter from a training guide).

  3. Confirm your audience, objectives, and course type so the AI can tailor structure and complexity.

  4. Let the AI generate a first‑draft outline and full course content.

  5. Edit and enhance lessons with additional explanations, images, questions, or activities.

  6. Publish or export your course and share it via your LMS or a direct link.

Get the Most Out of Your Existing Content

With Skill Studio AI, every document in your organization—PDF manuals, Word training guides, PowerPoint presentations, or internal policies—can become a structured, interactive e‑learning course in just a few steps. The AI does the heavy lifting of extraction, structuring, and question generation, while you focus on quality, relevance, and real‑world impact for your learners.
