Delta training means retraining people only on what changed in a procedure rather than repeating the whole course. It only works if you can reliably identify the change. Skill Studio AI does this with baseline-change detection, then regenerates only the affected lessons, which we call a surgical update.

Why does full retraining fail?
Making 400 people repeat a 30-minute course because step 7 changed wastes time and teaches people to stop paying attention. The change gets buried.
What does delta training require?
A baseline. A stored version of the approved procedure to compare against.
Change detection. The difference between baseline and revision has to be identified precisely.
A mapping to lessons. Each change has to link to the lesson that teaches it.
If any of these is missing, the "delta" is guesswork.
What does a surgical update look like?
Step | Manual process | Surgical update |
|---|---|---|
Compare SOP revisions | Reviewer reads both | Automatic baseline diff |
Decide what to rebuild | Meeting and judgement | Affected lessons identified |
Rebuild | Whole course or video | Only affected lessons |
Approval | Email chain | Routed to the named SME |
Republish | Re-export and re-upload | Dynamic SCORM to the LMS |
Evidence | Assembled later | Recorded as it happens |
A surgical update takes roughly half a day in our model, compared with about a week for a full rebuild.
Who needs it?
Pharma, medical device, manufacturing and financial services teams with frequent SOP revisions and inspection exposure.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between delta training and a full course refresh?
Delta training targets learners at the changes. A refresh repeats everything.
Does a surgical update change the whole course?
No. Unaffected lessons are left as approved.
