How to Create Learning Paths

This guide helps Skill Studio AI admins build structured learning journeys that sequence courses with prerequisites, durations, and completion tracking. Use it to guide learners through compliance training, onboarding, or skill-building programs efficiently.

Before You Start

• A Skill Studio AI admin account with access to the Learning Paths page.

• Existing courses created from PDFs, PowerPoints, SOPs, or policies in Skill Studio AI.

• Defined learning objectives and target audience for the path (e.g., new hire onboarding).

• Learner groups or individuals ready for enrollment (e.g., teams in regulated industries).

• Compliance requirements for certificates and progress tracking.

Steps

1. Navigate to Learning Paths page — Log in as admin and select the Learning Paths section from the main dashboard to access path management tools.

2. Create new learning path — Click "Create Path," enter a name (e.g., "Compliance Onboarding"), description, and estimated total duration based on course sums.

3. Add courses in sequence — Select and drag existing courses into the path builder, arranging them in order from foundational to advanced topics.

4. Set prerequisites and unlocks — Configure prerequisites so subsequent courses unlock only after completing prior ones, including passing quizzes or knowledge checks.

5. Define completion requirements — Specify path completion criteria like 100% course progress, quiz scores, or time spent, plus enable visual progress indicators.

6. Configure path settings — Add estimated duration per course, multi-language options, and SCORM export for LMS integration if needed.

7. Enroll learners — Assign the path to individuals or bulk-enroll groups via user lists, then review enrollment summaries.

8. Enable certificates — Activate separate path completion certificates, customizing branding and issuance triggers distinct from course certs.

9. Publish and monitor — Review the path preview, publish it live, and track progress analytics like completion rates from the dashboard.

• Start with successive sequencing for compliance paths to ensure no basics are skipped.

• Estimate durations realistically by summing course times plus buffer for quizzes.

• Use AI avatars for consistent narration across path courses to build familiarity.

Troubleshooting

Learners can't access next course

Verify prerequisite completion in course settings and learner progress reports; reset if quiz scores are borderline.

Path duration inaccurate

Update individual course estimates and recalculate total; exclude optional quizzes from mandatory time.

Certificates not issuing

Check completion criteria thresholds and ensure path is marked complete in admin view.

Bulk enrollment fails

Confirm user group permissions and import CSV without special characters in names.
