How to Apply and Customize Course Themes

8 steps

What You'll Accomplish

Learn how to access course themes, customize colors and fonts to match your brand, and save themes for reuse across your training content. By the end of this guide, your courses will have consistent, professional branding that reflects your organization's visual identity.

1

Step 1 of 8

Navigate to Course Settings and select Appearance

Open your course and locate the Course Settings menu. Click on the Appearance section to access the theme customization panel. This is where all branding and visual design options are centralized.

2

Step 2 of 8

Browse available theme templates

Click Browse Themes or Theme Templates to see the prebuilt options available. Most platforms offer professionally designed themes (such as Rise, Apex, or Horizon) that serve as a starting point for your customization.

3

Step 3 of 8

Select a theme template that matches your brand direction

Click on a theme template to preview it. This selection becomes your foundation—you'll customize it in the next steps. Choose a template whose layout and style align with your organization's branding goals.

4

Step 4 of 8

Click the Customize or Edit button to enter the theme editor

After selecting your template, click Customize, Edit, or Enter Theme Editor. This opens the advanced customization interface where you can adjust colors, fonts, images, and layout elements in real time.

5

Step 5 of 8

Customize primary colors, accent colors, and text colors

In the Colors section, click on each color field to open the color picker. Set your primary color, accent color, and text colors to match your brand guidelines. Most theme editors show real-time previews as you adjust each color, so you can see changes instantly across your course.

6

Step 6 of 8

Select fonts and configure typography for headings and body text

Navigate to the Fonts section and choose your heading and body fonts from the available options. Set font weights (regular, medium, bold) for each element. Consistent typography reinforces your brand identity across all lessons and course pages.

7

Step 7 of 8

Upload custom background images and configure other visual elements

In the Backgrounds or Images section, click Upload to add custom images for your cover page, hero section, or course backgrounds. You can also customize button styles, navigation menus, and lesson headers to complete your branded design.

8

Step 8 of 8

Save your custom theme as a reusable template

Click Save as Template or Save Theme, then enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Company Brand 2026"). This saves your customized theme for reuse across other courses, ensuring brand consistency across your entire training library. You can now apply this theme to any new course in seconds.

You're all set!

Your course now has a branded, professionally designed appearance that reflects your organization's identity. You can apply this saved theme to additional courses, and any future updates to the theme will automatically apply to all courses using it, maintaining consistency across your entire learning platform.
