Client background
UEG is a leading non-profit, multidisciplinary organization based in Vienna, Austria, dedicated to improving digestive health in Europe and globally. Founded in 1992, it acts as an umbrella association for over 50,000 professionals, uniting national/specialist societies to provide education, support research, and advance clinical standards.
Key aspects of the UEG include:
UEG Week: The association organizes this annual congress, which is one of the largest and most prestigious gastroenterology meetings in the world.
Education & Research: UEG offers extensive online and face-to-face education, including the "Gutflix" platform, and provides research fellowships (e.g., €50,000 fellowship) to foster scientific innovation.
Community: Through the UEG Community, it connects over 30,000 digestive healthcare professionals worldwide.
Public Affairs: The organization advocates for improved, equitable, and evidence-based digestive disease care across Europe.
Challenge
UEG faced multiple interconnected challenges in their training and enablement strategy:
Content creation velocity: New product features and updates required corresponding training materials, but traditional video production and course development took too long
LMS flexibility: UEG needed the ability to export training content in standard formats (SCORM) for use in their existing learning management systems, not be locked into a proprietary platform
Content customization: Different use cases required different content structures—some courses needed quizzes and assessments, others needed to focus purely on video demonstration without evaluation
Technical integration: The solution needed to work seamlessly with their existing tech stack, including their own LMS infrastructure and compatibility with industry-standard platforms like Open edX
Quality assurance: our key stakeholder IT Director, needed confidence that content exported from the platform would function correctly across multiple LMS environments
Solution
UEG implemented Skill Studio AI with a focus on enterprise integration and technical flexibility. The deployment included:
Video Export and SCORM Compatibility: Configured the platform to export complete training courses as SCORM packages (both 1.2 and 2004 standards) that could be imported into any SCORM-compatible LMS. This eliminated vendor lock-in and provided flexibility for UEG to use the platform alongside their existing learning infrastructure.
Granular Content Control: Implemented features allowing course creators to:
Toggle quizzes on or off depending on course objectives
Edit quiz questions, reorder them, or remove them entirely
Control video length and pacing through prompt customization
Specify learning context to tailor content generation for different audience segments (e.g., new users vs. power users)
Modular Architecture: Built the implementation using a modular approach, allowing UEG to test individual features, provide feedback, and integrate components incrementally rather than requiring a complete platform overhaul.
Pilot Program Structure: Established a phased rollout beginning with a pilot program in early 2026, allowing UEG's team to thoroughly test the entire workflow—from content generation through export, import, and learner delivery—before full-scale deployment.
Results
UEG's training and enablement capability was significantly enhanced:
Faster time-to-content: Training materials for new product features could be created and deployed within 1-2 weeks, compared to 4-6 weeks previously
SCORM export validation: Successfully tested exporting courses as SCORM packages and importing them into Open edX and other compatible systems without functionality loss
Flexible content creation: Course creators could rapidly prototype content, get feedback, and iterate without being constrained by platform limitations
Enterprise confidence: The modular approach and standards-based export functionality provided the technical assurance needed for enterprise adoption
Scalable training delivery: Positioned to train thousands of platform users and internal employees on new features as the company scales
Client background
"Skill Studio AI has given us the flexibility and control we needed for enterprise-scale training delivery. The ability to generate content quickly while maintaining full control over customization and ensuring compatibility with our existing systems was exactly what we were looking for. Chris and the team have been thoughtful about understanding our technical requirements, and the modular approach to implementation gave us confidence in the platform. We're excited to launch our pilot program and scale this across our entire training operation."
